When Janna Cawrse
was fifteen years old,
she decided she would
one day sail the world.
Fifteen years later,
she set out.
Ever since, she’s been writing about it.
Part adventure, part love story, The Motion of the Ocean recounts how two young dreamers take a most unusual honeymoon cruise: 17,000 miles across the Pacific on their own 35-foot sailboat. From Seattle to the South Pacific to Hong Kong, Janna and her partner become neurotic about weather, get attacked by mildew, and befriend cockfighters, cross-dressers, tattooists, and thieves.
If their marriage can survive this, it can survive anything...
Currently a landlubber, Janna writes about love and parenting for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Her blog, Happily Even After, chronicles balancing kids, career, friends, and self, while keeping the relationship afloat with the dreadfully charming Mr. Right.

Moms Like Sex Too
SEX. It’s what got us here in the first place. But what harried new mom has time and energy to talk about it anymore, let alone DO it? Janna writes a column about sex and motherhood for Seattle Mom Blogs because--even though sometimes we might forget--Moms Like Sex Too.

If you thought Harry and Sally had a good love story, take a listen to this. Janna wrote it for her partner Graeme for their wedding day. It’s called “The Rock Song,” and it rocks!

The Dragonfly Sets Sail
When Janna and Graeme set out on the riskiest honeymoon ever, they blogged about it all the way across the Pacific. Written for family, friends, and fellow sailors, it’s probably a bit too technical (and personal) for you. But, hey, if you’re feeling curious, here it is...
