On the summer solstice of 2003, my partner and I tied the knot and untied the lines on a 35’ sailboat.

We spent the next two years sailing across the Pacific from Seattle to Hong Kong on our honeymoon.

I wrote “The Rock Song” for my hubby. It details our Harry-Met-Sally saga of love and our dream of sailing.

The tune was brilliantly arranged and sung by our friend Sean Stanley (pictured below) at our wedding.

It rocks.

As a girl she was superstitious, found ringed rocks and made three wishes

Moved his life across the world, learned of love from other girls

But from his shore he kept casting for more her way

Bridging borders, bridging lips

The charm it comes with the third, mountains scaled and lessons learned

The tide of life and love it ebbs and it flows

Quicksilver lightening flash burns down to embers and ash

But wind fans the flame of love and it glows

Picked it up by the green and the blue

Ocean that’s beckoning us to sail

And now we’ll know how far a dream can go
