LOS ALAMOS, N.M.—Nearly 400 people entered the Jemez Mountain Trail Runs, a grueling romp along the many picturesque trails near The Atomic City. Runners had the opportunity to challenge themselves on a half-marathon, a 50-kilometer event, or the whole enchilada—a mind-numbing 50-mile race that included three separate climbs up a trio of 10,000-foot peaks. Thanks to a late-spring snowstorm a couple of days before the event, runners got to contend with wet feet and slippery conditions. Congratulations to all the participants and finishers! You’ve shown uncanny mettle and superior training. Click any photo to see a larger view, or click the link below to launch a slideshow.
