‘Overwhelmed with wonder’

Recently I was reading in the gospel of Mark and was captured by the verse in Mark 9:15 “as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.”  To me this best describes how we have felt about the Jesus that we have sought to follow..his love and forgiveness, his power and authority, his heart for the Father, his sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as well as his compassion for the poor, destitute and the brokenhearted.

Over the years we have had the privilege to  follow this Jesus to the continent of Africa where chaos, corruption and  confusion reign.  Yet in the midst of all the obvious problems and difficulties we have been “overwhelmed with wonder”at the extraordinary ways that Jesus has been at work in peoples lives. 

It is these Stories of Hope that we would like to share with you.  We trust that as you listen and learn from our African friends that you too would see Jesus and run to greet him through the lives of those you may least expect.
