Hello Friends! I have a few copies of Hyperspace studios "Scratch Art" Book For Sale. The book features art by James Kern and Rachel Gilbert of No Hope No Fear Tattoo Art Studio as well as many other talented artists. Books are $40 each.

Please come by the studio if you want one. Right now I am not shipping any.

Here's a description of the book:

"Hyperspace Studios presents Scratch Art - A collection of scratchboard art by tattoo artists This impressive collection of scratchboart art comes from well over 150 talented tattoo artists including Filip Leu, Shige, Carson Hill, Dee Dee Sergua, Gabriel Cece, Jon Clue, Guy Aitchison, Jack Rudy, Dan Hazelton, Zsolt Sarkozi, Nick Baxter, Kim Reed, Kore Flatmo, Nikko Hurtado, Michele Wortman, Markus Lenhard, Don McDonald, Timothy Hoyer, Aaron Cain, Bugs, Cory Kruger, Larry Brogan, Anil Gupta, Marcus Pacheco, Durb Morrison, Tim Kern, Steve Morris, Nate Beavers, Bob Tyrrell, Joe Capobianco, James Kern, Mike Devries, Needles, and many many more!
“One would never dream of calling the renowned Guy Aitchison a ‘scratcher’, a kitchen table tattoo hack. But he's playing on the slur with a new project called Scratch Art, in collaboration with his wife Michele Wortman, explaining "We chose this medium as it parallels so much with aspects of tattooing. Like tattooing, it is an unforgiving medium that does not allow for erasing; we also chose this theme because of the irony of reference to 'scratch' artists in tattooing. Amusingly, so many of us are far from scratch artists; this industry has grown artistically and the awareness of true artists in the tattoo field is undeniable."

Take Action: Don’t Let Congress Orphan Your Work

THE ORPHAN WORKS BILL IS BACK.

And this time the wheels have been greased for quick passage.

Yesterday a revived Orphan Works Bill sailed through a House panel. Today the Senate bill will be marked up. These bills will expose any work of art to commercial infringement. This will include everything from professional paintings to personal photos placed on the net.

The bills will coerce you to register your work with for-profit registries as a condition of protecting your copyrights. Any unregistered pictures will be subject to Orphan Works infringement. This is a radical departure from international copyright law and normal business practice.

If you wish to oppose this legislation, you must act now. We’ve set up an online site for anyone to e-mail their Senators and Representatives with one click. This site is open to professional artists, photographers and any member of the image-making public.

We’ve provided sample letters from individuals representing different sectors of the visual arts. Illustrators, photographers, fine artists, reps, licensing firms, designers:

If you’re opposed to the Orphan Works act, this site is yours to use.

For international artists and our colleagues overseas, we’ve provided a special link, with a sample letter and instructions as to whom to write.

2 minutes is all it takes to write Congress and fight for your copyrights. Go here:

http://capwiz.com/illustratorspartnership/home/

Pick a sample letter or write your own. Type in your zip code. Your letter will be automatically addressed to your congressman and senators.
