It’s easy to forget just how far things have come in ten years. Indeed most of the things discussed right here on this very blog would be the stuff of dreams back in 1997! Video calling is certainly one of those future technologies which is so slick that we hardly even think about it these days. Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of talking to friends in New Zealand via Skype. Skype just works, and with only a tiny bit of configuring. Best of all, if you already have broadband, it’s free! It’s certainly true that video is not the best means of communication for all scenarios, but sometimes it’s unbeatable! I wonder how long it will be before most video calls are made in HD.
