Apple’s iMovie HD video editing software comes with a number of interesting effects, most are bordering on cheap looking, but others, such as Water Color, have always intrigued me. Unfortunately, even these effects never seemed to live up to their potential at standard definition, either PAL or NTSC. Now that I have HD to hand, I thought it might be nice to revisit these effects. The results, whilst not earth shatteringly good, are nice enough to make want to attempt an entire project using this effect. Now if only iMovie had an instant ‘A-Ha, Take on Me’ effect, how cool would that be?
