Ravindra over at Symbian-Life Blog has recently become the caregiver to a baby squirrel. Of course, being the Nokia fan that he is, Ravindra used his N82 to document these early days with photos and videos (see above).
As most readers will already know, the Nokia N82 is an award winning photo phone powerhouse! Be that as it may, the video capture abilities of the Silver Snapper are inferior to the old Nokia N93.
Below Ravindra’s video is a sample of some HD video that I managed to capture recently using the Canon HV10 high definition video camera. The difference is quality is massive and nicely demonstrates the kind of video capture we might expect from some future Nokia Nseries device.
I’m planning to go into much more detail on this subject in a future blog post, but for now I’d just like to say that I believe that decent quality HD video capture will be more important than multi mega pixel still photo capture within the next five years.
Real life is a fluid medium, it’s not presented to us as a series of still images - real life moves, both in memory and in realtime. Still photography is nearing it’s prime, video is only just getting started. All of the skills, processes and creative energy currently being applied to still photography can equally be applied to HD video.
