A 3D treatment of an old N-Gage classic seems to have garnered quite a bit of interest in recent months. I got to play with what looked like an advanced build at the Mobile World Conference in February.
As I've already mentioned several times before, I've yet to be convinced that phone games can be anything more than just casual entertainment for a few minutes. Having said that, I must admit that the control dynamics, fluid graphics and high standard of presentation of a couple of N-Gage games have got me thinking that this assumption of mine might need reworking.
The first and foremost example is 'One' (check out the video here), but the other title, and an altogether different proposition, is Bounce Boing Voyage. produced by Rovio Mobile and published by Nokia, Bounce Boing Voyage, has bucket loads of potential. Think of Marble Madness meets Super Monkey Ball meets Super Mario 64 and you'll have a rough idea of what to expect.
To me, Bounce seems like the perfect game for Nokia to give away with Nseries handsets, it's playable, it's colourful, it's fun. Nokia, forget Snakes, pack this!
