All is not well in Nokia Internet Tablet land, as this recent post over at WOM World highlights, for every N810 advocate, there are an equal number of doubters and perhaps even a few of haters!
So what could be the reason for this diversity of opinion surrounding Nokia’s latest internet tablet?
Last year at the Unlock L.A. event, during a Q and A session with bloggers, Nokia’s very own Vice President, Multimedia Sales and Channel Management, William Plummer, summed up what I believe to be the truth of the matter...
“The 770, uber geeks. N800, geeks. Whatever comes next, much more closer to the mainstream.” The N810 is what ‘comes next’, and it is much closer to the mainstream, but is it close enough? Not yet.
As Bill reminded us, Nokia are “committed to the tablet class of devices”. Without doubt, each revision has been an improvement. The question is, can these iterations occur fast enough to ensure that Nokia capture a significant share in the potentially huge palmtop computing platform, or will the S60 Touch device eclipse it?
N900 awaits... or does it?
