This travel adventure begins Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 in Florence, Italy. My sister and I traveled from California to Italy to join a 10-day Rick Steves’ tour of the best sites, art and gelato of a lifetime.

A few years ago, irresistible Italy began to call out to me. Luring me to see its beautiful rolling countryside, sun-drenched villas, delicious food and wine, cities packed with historical sites and museums full of art! As an artist, it’s fascinating to see works of art in person that I have learned about but have only seen in books. When I travel, I love keeping a travel journal, taking photographs and sketching what I see. Besides the everlasting memories, it’s fun to have these mementos to remind me of my explorations. As you will see, Italy didn’t let me down. It exceeded my expectations. I hope that you will enjoy this adventure along with me!
