Praised for her “soft, warm, and flexible high notes and superb phrasing” (Walther Neumann, Kleine Zeitung) soprano Jacqueline Noparstak is becoming recognized as one of the most promising young sopranos of her generation.
 
Upcoming engagements for Ms. Noparstak during the 2009/2010 season include performances as The Foreign Woman in Menotti’s The Consul with Glimmerglass Opera, the title role in Massenet’s Manon and Rosalinda in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with Opera in the Heights, and the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Rochester Chamber Orchestra.
 
Ms. Noparstak’s recent engagements include Micaëla in Carmen, Fiordiligi in Così Fan Tutte, the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, Magda in La Rondine, the title roles in Susannah and Arabella, Héro in Béatrice et Bénédict, Micaëla in Carmen and Hanna in The Merry Widow with companies including Union Avenue Opera, Opera in the Heights, Natchez Music Festival, Pine Mountain Music Festival, Bronx Opera, Brooklyn Opera, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, and Little Opera Theatre of New York. Equally at home on the concert stage, Ms. Noparstak has appeared in concerts and recitals throughout the United States.
 
The Grand Prize Winner of the AIMS 25th annual Meistersinger Competition in Graz, Austria, Ms. Noparstak was also named First Prize winner in the Marie E. Crump Vocal Arts Competition, the Lois Alba Competition in Houston, Texas, the Kosciuszko Competition, the Marcella Sembrich Voice Competition, and the Rochester Oratorio Society's Classical Idol Competition.  She won Second Prize in the Violetta DuPont Competition and has received awards and honors from the Liederkranz Foundation Competition, the Licia Albanese Puccini Competition, and the Long Leaf Opera Competition.
 
A native of Eugene, Oregon, Ms. Noparstak holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Columbia University and currently resides in New York City, where she studies with renowned soprano Diana Soviero.
