This has become my gravatar, hope you like it....Wonder if I can keep it like my driver’s license photo - forever?
This was taken on the “evil deck” of the Reluctant Fisherman Inn - our home base for the Cordova, Alaska media tour. They call it evil because it beckons and holds you, keeping you from other things.
This evening all we had to do (we meaning everyone other than the chefs) was to eat, drink and to celebrate the good people of Cordova and their terrific Copper River Salmon.
Thanks to Mark Hoover of Cordova for the glam shot.

People often ask me:
“How do you make money blogging, especially with no ads?”
The short answer:
Through building traffic to my column and blog. Your clicks and comments count! When you share my articles, forward them to new readers and friends, that helps, too.
Referrals for other freelance writing is also key! Know someone who needs a press release written, website content produced, or ghost writing for their book? Inquiries always welcome.
I’m thrilled by:
-readers who say they read me for entertainment but always learn something;
-editors, authors, chefs and communications pros who call my writing “persuasive,” “hilarious,” “impressive,” “remarkable;”
-readers who try new recipes or techniques for the first time because of something I wrote.
