ABOUT AFRICAN REFUGE

African Refuge is a community-based organization with the mission of improving the quality of life of African immigrants and refugees and other underserved families living in the Parkhill neighborhood of Staten Island, New York City.   To achieve its mission, it promotes community participation, and facilitates access to meaningful resources and activities that promote the dignity and health of youth and families in the community.


African Refuge operates a Community Drop-In Center at 185 Parkhill Avenue and a Youth and Family Center at 140 Parkhill Avenue.  African Refuge is a project of Refuge, Inc. a New York State not-for-profit organization and a member of the National Consortium of Torture Treatment Programs.
