Young Leader Award - 9 to 13 years

The Young Leader Award is a programme of leadership training for young people between 9 and 13 that promotes them working with younger children, teaching leadership skills through a range of games and activities. Designed for use in primary and secondary schools.

Camden’s Young Ambassadors
Introducing Camden's new Sporting 'Young Ambassadors'
 
David Morse of Hampstead School and Sasha Kelly of La Sainte Union School - seen here at Chelsea Football ground at the Young Ambassador Conference on 9th October
 
David is a sailor and has been selected for the Challenger transition squad (a pre-Paralympic squad). He competes in up to world standard regattas as often as possible through the year.
Sasha works as a coach for Islington Football Development. She plays for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 1st team. She is an FA Level 1 coach and a regular sports volunteer at LSU.
Both 17 year olds are keen to increase participation in sport and will be at sports events and prize givings throughout the year.

Over the year the Young Ambassadors will work within the Camden School Sport Partnership to:
1.  increase participation and promote healthy active lifestyles,
2.  support young talented sportspeople
3.  support learning about the Olympic and Paralympic Games in schools and the Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence
4.  raise awareness of the Young Ambassador Programme, London 2012 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games
5.  lead and empower other young people.
6.  have an impact beyond the Camden School Sport Partnership
 
Lucy Nicholas of Camden School for Girls and Jay Kirton of William Ellis were Camden's Young Ambassadors in 2008-09.
