3. Financial Report - Claire Whichcord

Report handed out. To view copy click here

Two schools have yet to pay fees for this year.
Suggestion that penalty for non payment be written into constitution - perhaps restrict activities for non paying schools.

£200 received from Colin Adams this year. Suggestion Federation lobby Gill Morris to continue this funding on annual basis.

4. Review of Results of Federation tournaments this year

Full results were distributed and can be viewed by clicking here.

Two shield trophies to be bought, financed through CSSP which can be engraved and passed on each year. Paul Godfrey/James Rourke to research prices and purchase.
No medals will be awarded due to cost. Discussion re Camden Athletics events should provide medals for Camden winners.

Girls     Winners     PHS               2005-6 and 2006-7
Boys    Winners     Hampstead    2005-6 and 2006-7

Ian Warren will publicise Federation results to Camden Council for publication on their web site and annual report. Claire Whichcord to publicise results at Camden Sports Strategy Group.
Sophie Sparrow has a CSSA excel sheet used for CSSA that includes hours & will send to Jackie.

It was felt that in general, the tournaments had gone very well - baring some concerns. Thanks to all the people who helped make them so successful

CSSBA Basketball
Thanks to John Stewart & Sophie Sparrow

Jackie to add CSSBA results for both boys and girls when received from Sophie.  Some schools have not paid their Fees. Sophie to ascertain which and contact schools.

LSU had some concerns re basketball matches clashing with other fixtures. Suggested LSU send fixture dates to John & Sophie early, so clashes do not arise.

Due to increased time needed in John’s role as Academy Head, Federation to consider phased take-over of league in 2008-9. Need someone to pick up slack. Ian Warren noted this could not be the competition manager. Less finance may be needed in future due to new facilities at AB, Haverstock and WES but finance still needed for table officials and refs.

5. Federation league & tournaments dates for next year 2007-2008

Full list of dates can be viewed by clicking here.

Issue of whether Federation comps should be 4-6pm or all day/pm. Year 7s from Hampstead School arriving back at 6.30 - too late/unsafe area. Decided to pilot a few events during day - girls 7/8 cricket all day at Somerstown also badminton at Somerstown when NVQs would be available to help. Schools to be asked each time to bring an umpire from the 6th form.

6. Sports Development Update

Youth Games: John Mann
Camden entered 9 more events this year than last but still did not enter in 12 events - these include volleyball, hockey, karate, judo and weight lifting. Camden came 24th out of 33 London Boroughs.

Need for Camden Schools to put together a team for these events and build a network of talented students. PE Departments and HODs could discuss how to ID students for events, and set up clubs/lessons in missing activities. It was proposed that HODs and Sports Development meet in September to discuss. Jackie volunteered to provide a link between schools and sports development on a continuing basis.

Competition Manager: Ian Warren
The manager would work 2 days for Camden and 2 days for Islington. The Youth Sport Trust i/c and no decision has been made. Unlikely anyone in post before Jan 2008. Role involves implementation of National structure - including CSSA & Federation plus other strands. YST have dragged their feet - only 12 months of funding left!

AOB

Sarah McAuley at AB has been teaching boys full contact rugby and would like friendly fixtures with other schools in October. Please contact her at AB if you have a team.
John Mann noted that year 7&8 Tag rugby teams are needed for the Youth Games
