Main Issues

1. Basketball:
Refs & Table official training
Lyn Shakespeare said table course went very well. All 11 passed and keen to take Level 1 ref course on Saturday 8th November - £10 per candidate. Lyn will send out invitation email to schools.

It was suggested that the Federation pay for a Level 1 basketball coaching course
£60 for tutor for coaching and £60 for table official course
Haverstock to host coaching award, Lyn to organise

Sian wants to set up Level 1 ref course for CSG on December 13th but looking for venue

Football Level 1 coaching course
Sian has set up a Level 1 football coaching course for 16+  at Cantelowes over the two weekends of
22 & 23 and 29 & 30 November. Free - Jack Petchy funding. Max 18

Review of Basketball tournaments
Lyn Shakespeare was thanked by the Federation for taking responsibility for all refs of girls matches

Maria Fidelis now only have an U14 team

Swiss Cottage court is still leaking (showers) - they inform John but not Lyn

Basketball: Refs

Lyn has refereed 2 matches. On Tuesdays she is able to coach the refs during game.

Payment of refs: Lyn to invoice Treasurer

Incident with timekeeping and conduct of one ref. Lyn to write when has full name & address

Too many spectators especially at AB - shout at refs.
Matches should have no spectators. Junior teams sit quietly during senior game. Teachers are responsible for control of non players.

Paul Godfrey is available to ref girls league if asked on Wednesdays and some Tuesdays

Coaches are in charge and games go ahead as planned. Refs either take over when they arrive or are sent away.

Hugh Wilkinson to have responsibility for all refs for boys matches

Basketball: Rules/code of conduct
Rule that same individual cannot play for both teams will be looked at next season - precludes G&T development. Next season Juniors can be seniors. Seniors cannot be Juniors.
Need for new rules to cover abuse and spectators

Consider: Letter to HoDs re students or coach rude to officials. Letter to manager of league re refs & table officials rude to schools

      FROM MINUTES JUNE 12TH 2008
      Contract (Service Level Agreement)
To be discussed further at a later meeting.
Schools - Penalty for late payment? Week in advance - schools confirm with eachother and with
      refs and table officials.
      Refs - Responsibilities:  Punctuality
Teacher - Responsibilities: first school name to provide 2 table officials. Sophie to be provided
with mobile contacts for all basketball coaches
      Player - Responsibilities:

      Costs
NOTE from 12 June Minutes  Information from Paul Williams: Competition Manager
In terms of referees we (the SSP) has received £1000 funding to engage Step Into Sport
volunteers into officiating capacities at inter-school competitions. This money needs to be spent
ASAP. Given the concerns express in January this money could be used to support the
CSSBA. ..... a table course and/or referees course ..... and get these involved ..... in placements
The money can also be used to buy kit (i.e. referees kit or just t-shirts e.g. "Table Official") or
equipment (score books). Hopefully this money can be used effectively (albeit quickly!)
