The Cheesy Design Challenge
My blogsite contains three principal banners that serve as the focus for the overall design: The title banner on the front page, the archive banner, and the banner for any/all photo pages (“Say Cheeese”). The goal is to create new banners for each of these places that will work in the existing environment. (I may consider altering the blue framing bars, but I would have to do that myself as the xhtml is rather brutal.) For simplicity’s sake and to keep it fun and less like actual work, try to integrate your banners as much as possible without changing much else.
Banners should convey a mood appropriate to the site, based upon your impression of the style of the entries written, combined with what you might know about me. The title “The Cheese Stands Alone” must remain intact, but all other captions may be altered if desired. Proper dimensions, layered Photoshop versions of the existing banners, as well as any/all cheese clipart in eps format can be provided.
The Objective
  1. Banner Submissions will be implemented directly into the blog as they are received.
  2. Each banner will be hyperlinked directly to your own design site, blog, or personal site, giving your work more visibility and more traffic to your site.
  3. A caption will appear in the left column of the main page stating the artist for that particular day, hyperlinked as with the banners.
  4. Banner submissions by additional artists will be integrated in rotation, as new entries are published. Rotation will continue on an ongoing basis.
  5. It’s a way of showing off your work, having some fun and checking out works of other fellow designers!
