Sarah Prentice - Visual Media Artist
August 15, 2007
I focus on rendering real objects to bring across abstract ideas. Rather than abstracting the form of an object such as a skeleton, I might creates a scene from straight forward skeletons or animals to create a scene from an alternate reality.
I began working in pencils but was limited by constantly erasing, correcting and detail orientation. Under the guidance of high school mentor artist Rocky Hose (seriously) I moved into ink and paint, learning to draw from the arm rather than the wrist.
I am a 21 -year-old visual artist. I work in mostly ink and digital painting. I joined in Progress in 2002 and had work in hung in the Art Crawl. In 2004 my piece "A funny thing" was a part of the Ordway Honors high school arts showcase, which selected entries from all metro area high schools. August 15, 2007
My name is Houa Lor. I'm 15 years old, turning 16 December 27. I lived and was raised here in St. Paul. But i wasn't born here. I was born in Thailand. My parents brought me and my two sisters here to the U.S. in the early 1990s. I have two more sisters that were born here, a total of 4 sisters. I've been surrounded by music all my life.
