My Little Secret to Be Featured at the Cine Youth Festival

Congratulations to Kao Choua Vue as her video “My Little Secret” was just accepted into the Chicago International Film Festival this coming June. More than 300 videos were submitted and our very own IP artist (and instructor) Kao Choua Vue has had her video selected along with 100 other videos from throughout the world.

Two IP VIdeos to Be honored at the EDU Film Fest

We would like to send a big shout out!!!! to the makers of “Red Lake - The Sacred Heart of Our People” and “Terminative”. These two wonderful videos will be presented at the Parkway Theater in MInneapolis on Mya 23rd. More than 100 videos were submitted by students and schools throughout the state of Minnesota and we are proud to have ten of our young artists represented amongst them. Welcome ZMAN - A new IP Artist!

In Progress would like to welcome our newest IP artist Zach - also known as ZMAN to our music crew. Zach produced his first beat this weekend during the Saint Paul Artcrawl with help from fellow artists Yeeleng and Houa. We hope to see more of him during our Saturday music sessions.

Jordan Robinson Performs Magic for IP Artists

What a great surprise for all of our Art Crawl visitors and fellow IP artists when Jordan RObinson from Cass Lake, stopped by to share his art of magic during the Saint Paul Art Crawl. Jordan amazed us with card tricks, disappearing magic, and even some REALLY gross tricks. He also presented a wonderful re-enactment of the greatest magician ever “Houdini.”

AMERICAN CITIZEN WINS BEST LOCAL STUDENT AWARD AT ASPEN FLIM FEST

The Sacred Heart to Honored at COwichan Film Festival

Red Lake - The Sacred Hearth of Our People was just screened at the Cowichan Film Festival in Duncan BC. The film was amongst twelve videos from throughout North America selected to be shown as the best youth films for 2008. The festival ran in Duncan, from April 17-19. CONGRATULATIONS to all of our wonderful Red Lake producers!

Digital Arts Showcase APRIL 23rd - Four Directions Charter School

Please join us at the Four Directions Charter School for a great evening of photography, video and other student created artwork being presented. We will eat at 6PM, enjoy some live music by In Progress artist Neil Buckanaga and then on with a great show of videos created over the past few years at the school. This promises to be fun for the entire family! The event is free and open to the public.

TIMELESS PHOTO & VIDEO EXHIBIT - OPENING NIGHT APRIL 25th

“TIMELESS” is a photo and video exhibit opening this coming Friday, April 25th as part of the Saint Paul Art Crawl at our offices in lower-town Saint Paul. This year the 5th floor show will feature artwork by thirty artists ages 7-27, from throughout Minnesota. Please join us between the hours of 6-10PM for food, music, videos and an amazing array of artwork. We will also feature some music and photography demos for young people and their families. If you can’t join us Friday evening, please come by Saturday from 2-10PM or Sunday between the hours of 12-5PM.

ETC. ETC. ETC. Off to A Great Start

Effectuate The Constellation or ETC is a new six week course for young artists interested in expressing their creativity with the rest of the world. The class began last Tuesday and was received with great enthusiasm by our many In Progress artists. Cha and CHoua Lor are proving to be an amazing and spot on teaching team. My Space Party - Includes Fun & Learning

Well we all had a great time learning about the bells and whistles of online gallery creation. Artists came by to demonstrate their personal curatorial skills, others helped those with limited experience to create Avatars, My Space pages and much more! More than 20 people showed up for the evening’s events. Special thanks to our Online Coordinator Gao Yee Thao,and big sisters Sai & Der Thao for making the evening a huge success!
