Leadership Training

In Progress is  currently seeking support from local and national funders to support an extensive training program that will provide its artists with the skills they need to develop and lead their own digital arts programs throughout the nation.  Leadership training will include formal skill development;  mentorship from national leaders; establishment of a digital support system and ongoing opportunities for artists to share what they know with others.

Our goal is to pilot the training program with our Ogichidaakweg artists from northern Minnesota.  The training will allow young women that have already proven themselves as leaders within their communities through their artwork, to now train as teachers and organizers.  Program participants would engage in an intensive immersion program taught by nationally recognized artists, critics and educators.  Through the program they would write curriculum and pilot their own workshops that would then be presented for replication the following year.

In order to get started we will of course need a tremendous amount of support.  Keep your fingers crossed for us as we begin this fundraising task - and feel free to put in a good word with those that might positively influence the future of this program.
