San Jose Urban Plunge

Fifteen teenagers from the Diocese of San Jose, led by Youth Leaders Valerie Liberty, Rob Manfrey, and Deacon Steve Herrera, worked with Catholic Charities to learn about how the Catholic Church is addressing issues of poverty in Santa Clara County. Ruben Solorio of Catholic Charities facilitated our involvement with the various programs which are addressing issues of poverty through Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County. We learned about the work of Catholic Charities and volunteered at Catholic agencies throughout Santa Clara County.

Diocese Teens Aid Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities has pledged to reduce poverty by half by 2020. The youth of the Diocese of San Jose were proud to take part in this commitment to address the needs of the disadvantaged in Santa Clara County.
