I was given some old negatives by Pop Jim my Grandfather James Banks MBE many years ago in a Siedlitz Stomach Powders box! Some of the pictures in this web site are from there. He certainly left me with an interest in History with stories of how he had traced the family back to a Captain of Pikemen in Cromwells army. Well I’m not back that far yet, indeed there is a large gap between recorded family history and said Captain Banks. It might well come to light in my research, we will see. I would be delighted to have any other old photo’s documenting the family to add to this website, I will be able to copy and return. Also any other information on the photos would be great. Especially who the pictures are of, or were it was taken. Its a work in progress and as new images or knowledge come to light I will add them to the site.
