We run our tours from Monday to Friday throughout the year, so we therefore book accommodation from Sunday to provide our guest with plenty of time to arrive and relax prior to the start of the week.
You will be collected Monday morning from your designated place of accommodation and taken for a formal introduction and welcome to “Sherwood Forest Photographic Tours”. We will then take a little time to get to know each other over light refreshments followed by a short presentation on digital cameras and basic photographic techniques that may be useful in the week ahead.
We cater for all skill sets ranging from the beginner to the more experienced photographer and as such provide an easy yet informative weekly itinerary that will take you step by step through the basics of understanding your digital camera, composition, lighting, exposure, image manipulation and alternative print production. Due to the differing levels of expertise that will naturally occur within any group, we concentrate each specific element at the individual requirements of each person, and in doing so we aim to provide a balanced approach to increase everybody’s knowledge and understanding throughout the tour.
One of our unique features introduces you to “Direct to Substrate Printing”. A technology that has only recently emerged but is quickly providing not only users within industry unparalleled flexibility and creativity but also enthusiastic photographers who wish to see their images reproduced in a completely unique way. We will show you this process and explain some of the applications suited to this technology and in doing so inspire you to look at your images in a new light.
We are very lucky to be positioned in such a wonderful location and as such are surrounded by many different photographic opportunities, but try as we might it would be unfair and almost impossible on the photographer to visit and capture them all in just one week.
