Open to all students and young singers living in the state of New Mexico. Winners will be chosen based on talent and artistic achievement. A final concert, free to the public, will be held featuring the winners.

Requirements
• Completed application form postmarked on or before September 15, 2008
• $10.00 application fee (Checks made out to UNM Music Vocal Artistry)
• Application must include a statement of financial need to support your future vocal and choral studies.
• Required repertoire includes two contrasting song selections, both from classical “art song”
vocal music literature. An “art song” is music composed for one voice and piano.
This excludes all arias, baroque and classical.
• A competition accompanist will be provided; however, you may provide your own pianist if desired.
If you use our pianist, please provide the key in which your selections will be sung.
• Original scores must be provided for the judges, no photocopies will be accepted.
• Students applying for the Emerging Artist or Music Education/Choral category must be enrolled in
an institution that offers such a degree.
