So tomorrow, September 2nd, is my one year blogiversary.

Hooray for me!  Don’t go back hunting through the archives - due to a tear in the fabric of spacetime, my first several months of blogging are now only available by Googling something specific in the entry (try “Knit Mongrel” pelican - seriously).

But it’s been a fantastic year, and I have made some wonderful friends, learned more than I will ever remember, and have become the kind of knitter that, when I started blogging, I could only envy.

I’m so proud.

I wouldn’t have kept going had my readers not de-lurked often enough to leave me comments. Seriously - you guys make this all worth it. So... it’s time for the:

Here’s the deal.

I have had this computer for a while now. It’s my MacBook Pro, bought several years ago so I could record music in my house. Little did I know that a huge part of my time on this computer would be spent blogging, browsing knitting patterns and keeping Webs in business!

The problem is - it doesn’t have a name. My car has a name (Linus). My TV has a name (Levy - rhymes, as in Levy the TV). Many of the other inanimate objects in my life have names (it’s a disease, and I’m working on it).

But my poor computer remains nameless.

I was hoping to take a picture for those of you who are stumped, but this will have to do for now as our camera is vacationing with my sister-in-law.

Thus, Name The Mongrel’s Computer Contest!
Here are the rules.

1. Leave me a comment or send me an email with your idea for a name. It can be anything, and I am not committed to a gender either way. So have at it.

2. You can enter as many times as you wish.

3. You have until next Monday, September 10th at midnight Central time to enter.

4. At at that time I will choose 2 (yep - two!) winners. The first will be the name I decide to use for my computer. The second will be someone randomly selected from the pool of entrants, so if you’re not feeling at your most creative, never fear. There’s still a chance!

5. The winners will get yarn. And goodies. They’re a secret, but I promise they’ll be good. Like Lorna’s. Or Malabrigo. Mmm. Malabrigo.

6. Seriously - the name can be anything. Bob? Sure. The Great Mongrelicious Computer of Doom? Absolutely. Gimme your best shot.

So... bring it on, my dear readers! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
