Catching Fireflies
Catching Fireflies
This is only a test
Today I gave Z a pretest.
I had decided a couple weeks ago that I would start giving Z a test at the end of the week. If she did very well she would receive a couple hours of board or card game playing time with me (and maybe Pere). If she did very poorly her weekend cartoon watching would be restricted.
I made a test today that I was going to give her tomorrow but I was too impatient so I gave it to her today and I called it a pretest.
For those of you who are interested in such things here is the test I gave my 6yo (almost 7) year old daughter. It is kind of all over the place as far as grade level I think.

Write a paragraph about visiting the school. You will be graded on handwriting, punctuation and capitalization.
(Here she spent almost twenty minutes writing. She did make some mistakes on capitalization and punctuation.)
So over all it took her about an hour to do 45 questions plus a written portion. She got 4 questions wrong.
Now I am just not sure how I am supposed to grade her... I am thinking maybe an A-...?
I am pretty happy. Z says “I liked the test!”
