While the „normal“ population is not allowed to show their bellies Haute-Couture models show us a nearly perfect sagittal profile which tells the male watcher: Look, I´m functioning!
This is, however not exactly the same sagittal profile like we can find in natural living people (see picture on top).
As can be seen in the natural posture the shoulders and the pelvis are balanced, while the models (see on the right) lean back their trunc, which leads to a straight malalignment of the cervical spine, which is not physiological.
Unfortunately our sedentary lifestyle leads to loss of lumbar lordosis, disc degeneration and unspecific low back pain which forces more and more elderly people into walking devices, because we loose the ability of upright ambulation.
