Approved Provider

Progressive Social Inclusion

As an approved provider of Halton Education Authority, our role is to "help young people in challenging circumstances to change their mind set, in order to re-evaluate their view of themselves, family, school and society in general". - Mark Finch, Chair of Kids First.

The PSI course achieves this goal by taking excluded children and taking them through a 7 stage program, which incorporates courses such as Rethink and AVP, before transferring them to other Halton providers.

The success of the program can even be evaluated through one simple test; young people who once had problems coping with a classroom situation are actually choosing to attend other provider's in a positive frame of mind. Our most recent Offstead report also said we were "very high quality provision" - OffStead 2006.

Hope Corner itself has been specifically designed to facilitate the PSI program and this is where the students spend most of their time whilst they are part of the PSI program.

Opportunities we offer to PSI Students include:

  1. Bullet The AQA Unit Award Scheme

  2. Bullet Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

  3. Bullet AVP and Rethink Courses

  4. Bullet Xcel Youth Group

  5. Bullet Youth Camps
