The crowd continued to scream while the band played in support of the Panther Creek Catamounts as the game moved on. While the game was coming to a close, Holly Springs scored a field goal, adding three points to their lead to make the score 16-12. It appeared that the Catamounts would have a disappointing loss and the crowd began to prepare for the worst. Then, just as the clock ticked off the final seconds of the game, #22, Kevin Collins ran the ball in for a touchdown. With 28 seconds left, the Catamounts had managed to pull ahead and then sealed the game by making the extra point.
The crowd cheered as the game ended and the football team began their celebrations. Panther Creek had just won their first varsity football game with a final score of 19-16. Hopefully, this is a sign that the intense practices are paying off, and Panther Creek's football team is going to continue to win against other schools. One thing is for sure: this football season promises to be an exciting one.
