Easter Weekend

I know this is really late, as usual. This time it’s because I’ve been waiting until I remembered to ask my sister for copies of some of her pictures from the first event of the weekend. But since I keep forgetting to ask Jodee for pictures (please, Jodee?) and because I’m currently banished from the basement due to intense sound metering of Tim’s sound system (apparently I make too much noise - I couldn’t make this stuff up!) I figured now is as good a time as any.

We had an amazing Easter weekend starting with spending Friday at Baby Animal days at a semi-local farm. My friend invited us up for the event and it was adorable, even if my kids weren’t exactly on their best behavior. If I get pictures, I’ll do another post but of course I forgot my camera. Suffice it to say, the kids are able to go into all of the pens with baby calfs, goats, pigs, etc. and then they get to hold chicks, bunnies, turtles, and other adorable baby animals. There are also crafts and games and things like spear throwing (if I get that picture of Barrett, it will definitely be worth another post) for the kids to do. Such a fun day and it was great to spend time with my dear friend that I rarely get to see. Thanks Kim!

The following day we had the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt that our neighbors organize. Once again Barrett was not exactly on his best behavior. He screamed the whole time because he wanted to ride in the neighbor’s kid-sized Cadillac Escalade instead of hunt for eggs. We’re hoping he grows out of this phase before he wants the full-sized version.  Due to this proud-parent-moment, we didn’t get many pictures. Here’s a few of the best I could come up with.

Barrett gladly handed over one of his eggs to Charlotte, mainly because it wasn’t an Escalade. Charlotte didn’t participate, mainly because she refuses to walk, but that’s a whole other post.

Easter morning was wonderful but a little chaotic since we have 9:00 a.m. church. The kids loved their Easter baskets and didn’t really care too much about their new clothes. It was a really nice day and we were grateful for an opportunity to focus on Christ. That evening we headed to my parents’ house where my mom had prepared a fabulous Easter dinner and another Easter egg hunt for the kids. Once again, I forgot my camera but my mom does a great job with the egg hunt with eggs specific to each kid (identified by color.) So cute and fun. Here are some pictures of the day.
