We had a rainy, cold Spring all the way through June. A few of the other highlight of Spring.....
1. Soccer
Barrett played soccer for the first time. I’m pretty sure he was the youngest kid on the team but his coach and teammates were so great with him. It was definitely a fun introduction to the game. Sadly, his disorganized mom completely missed the sign-ups for Fall soccer so he’s taking a little hiatus at the moment.
Here he is dancing.
Another regular occurrence on the field.
2. Preschool
Barrett finished his first year of preschool in May and I can’t say enough about what a great experience he had. His teachers were amazing and I only realized after the fact how much they did to help Barrett with a few different challenges that he had. They went on great fieldtrips, had a ton of fun themed days (pirate, beach, pajama, etc.) where the kids could dress up, and even rode horses and climbed on tractors for farm day. On the last day, each of the kids were given an individualized scrapbook with pictures of all the fun stuff they did throughout the year.
This was the last day of school program. It was moved into the garage due to the weather. It was adorable. Each kid came out one at a time with a super cute introduction. As you can see, we ended up at the back of the crowd so we didn’t get great pictures. At least Barrett isn’t hanging over the bench backwards like he did at the beginning of the year.
And here are his fabulous teachers, Miss Shaun and Miss Lisa.
3. Classic Skating
When I was a kid, the skating rink was where all the “bad” kids hung out. You know, the ones who had mullets and wore black Metallica t-shirts. Well that may still be the case but we’ve discovered that during school hours, the place is all ours. By last Spring I’m afraid we were becoming regulars. For $7.50 a kid gets unlimited playing on the skating rink (scooters, plasma cars and push toys rule during the day), the huge pirate playground and two levels of blow-up slides and bouncy toys, and some arcade tokens (lots of kid stuff!) Throw in cheap pizza and the fact that we’re typically the only ones there and you seriously can’t beat this place!
Up....
And down....
Notice there is nobody in the background of any of these pictures!
This one isn’t from the same place but I love this picture of the girl cousins from my side of the family.
