Responsibility is a term that is continually on my mind. The values I learned from my parents are essential tools in the studio. Faith and dedication guide my work. Self-portrait photos either hand traced or printed repeatedly form a series of patterns or animated sequences. In addition, I incorporate them into environments in order to describe a logistical, or fatherly, concern about that space. Sometimes I draw references to super-heroes and religious paintings, other times I compare the banality of office work or household chores. However, I always use ritual and performance as a means to break away from the confinement of obligations and expected boundaries.
