Top Ten Music

Although my music collection is not that big, some 600 CD’s, it is an important part of my life. As a child  my musical education started off with Beethoven, Bill Haley and Louis Armstrong (Basin Street Blues on 78 rpm) played by my father.

My first album was Sunny Afternoon  1966, from the Kinks, then came the Moody Blues, the dutch singer/songwriter Boudewijn de Groot, Prikkebeen in 1968, Thereafter came my DJ’ing period in which all sorts of popular music crept in my record collection. Although I also became seriously interested in Bach by the records of Walter Carlos. Things became even better when I entered the college of education. Our music teacher introduced me to Philip Glass, Steve Reich and modern Dutch composer’s like Otto Ketting and Simeon ten Holt.

With this page I like to introduce some of my favourite music in random or chronological order.

I still feel a bit of a DJ...

I know it is not allowed to put such long samples of ‘official music’ on a website, but as these pages serve a biographical and educational purpose I don’t think anyone cares...
