Nate Ewigman

Nick here. The weather forecast is for one more perfect construction day.......hot and clear. We don't care about hot as long as it's not  raining and we can work.

Bernard's son Nate came to visit last night which was terrific. I haven't seen him since he was a little  kid. He's a great guy and we'll all be sorry to see him leave later today. I know that his mother Colleen will appreciate the picture of Nate and Chaz together.

We were all feeling sorry for Lorna last night as the it appears that the second shortest person here is something like 14 inches taller than her. We did some rough height comparisons and Chaz is now claiming that he's taller than me which I'm  not buying. Bernard has promised to settle the issue later today using the laser level.
More on that to come.

On a even more personal note, my 17-month-old, Alexander (as compared to my 17-year-old Chaz) calls about four times a day to say "hi". That's pretty much all he says. "Hi." (He says "bus", too.)
It's very sweet. Chaz has been trying to teach Alexander to say, "I'm taller than you too, Daddy" , but he just garbles it.

Chaz and I took a mid-day trip into nearby Fulton, Missouri and toured the Winston Churchill museum. He gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech at a small college there in the early fifties. Very enjoyable. Chaz wanted to buy a souvenir for his 20th century history teacher. I thought the guy would get a kick out of a Winston Churchill refrigerator magnet or Winston Churchill golf ball, but Chaz would only pop for a postcard. Another great opportunity lost as far as I was concerned.

 Henry keeps pressuring me to let him be my business manager with some kind of a fifty-fifty lifetime split. I don't think it will fly with my darling wife.

Nate's arrives Triumphantly;
One more day for Nick and Chaz
