We spent the day in the port city of Varna on the Black Sea, the second largest city in Bulgaria. We took a two hour tour which basically had two stops: a cathedral in downtown and the ruins of Roman baths. After returning to the ship, we had lunch and then took the free shuttle bus back into town for a little bit of souvenir shopping. Back to the ship for a nap!
This appears to be a very poor city, not a lot of newer buildings, and the ones outside of the city center appear to be Communist era vintage (or earlier).
