In many ways, they left the best port until last. I walked the wall around the old city of Dubrovnik! Over a mile and several thousand steps. You can see our ship in the harbor, so we got to tender in and out. I am very impressed with this city and want to come back for a longer stay. No high pressure sales people in the streets. They even had a local dance performance in the town square just before noon. Too bad we had to be back on the ship by 2 PM. Dan didn’t go ashore with me and we didn’t book a tour for this stop. However, I rented one of these audio tour guides for the wall and stopped every so often to listen to the commentary and enjoy the magnificent view. The weather was perfect, low 70s, sunshine. It’s a beautiful setting.
The captain just announced that by the time we get to Venice, we will have traveled almost 3300 nautical miles on this cruise. Now, all we have left to do this afternoon is pack! Another type of adventure starts tomorrow.
