Pisa, return with Erin

We left Florence and took a side trip to Pisa, so that Erin could get her picture taken holding up the Leaning Tower! We then drove down the coast to Rome, in time to check into our last hotel for this trip, return our rental car, and deliver Erin to the airport for her return to Budapest. The trip was short but sweet. We saw a lot of Florence in two days, but the trip to Pisa was the highlight for Erin. The only thing she didn’t do was climb up the tower (250+ steps and 15 euros!). She is coming back to Venice and Rome with her church choir in less than two weeks, so she knows what she wants to see when she comes back.

We ended our trip with a negative impression of Rome, at least of the cab drivers we encountered after we returned our rental car at the airport, and when we left the hotel to come to the airport to leave on the last morning.
