We spent the day wandering around Venice on the Vaparetti, the boats that serve as the public transportation system of Venice. We made a full trip around the entire city at least one and a half times. No tour, just a 24 hour pass. We visited a very crowded St. Mark’s Square. We grazed for lunch among the shops by the Rialto Bridge. We took a Vaparetto over to Lido (they have cars there!). We saw the arrival of the Grand Princess, a HUGE cruise ship. After a short rest in our hotel room, we headed back to see St. Mark’s Square after dark, and to have dinner in a small cafe a few blocks away. We got back to our hotel around 11 PM. pretty tired puppies.  It will be a short day on Tuesday, before we head to the airport... all shopping within walking distance of our hotel.
