Pisa, Italy

We left Castiglion Fiorentino after breakfast and traveled northwest, through Sienna and toward the west coast of Tuscany. Of course, we had to stop in Pisa, just to get a few pictures. Notice that I did not put up my arms in this picture, to pretend like I was holding it up, like a lot of other tourists there. Dumb!

Then we drove north up the motorway, getting off in La Spezia. We followed the signs to Cinque Terra, and drove around narrow winding roads up and down hills for almost an hour, without finding a hotel. (Never drive through Cinque Terre when you are tired and hungry!) We finally headed toward the motorway, and found a little hotel in a place called Borghetto di Vara. Only 50 euros a night. Clean, but not great.
