indian ocean
This was the second trip to Alphonse.
We stayed exactly in the same location as in 2000 See the details of the location here. However, this time I tried a vertical antenna for simplicity and proximity to the sea. The icom AH-4 antenna coupler allowed using this antenna from 10 to 40 meters. Conditions in 2005 were by far not as good as in 2000. I was operating mainly 15, 17 and 20 meters, as conditions were best on these bands. 2 of the ground wires actually reached about 10 meters into the Indian Ocean. After some stormy weather with strong waves these wires were a mess, but still working fine.
Despite the bad conditions I could log more than 800 contacts during the short operating time.
QSL cards have mostly been answered if you still need a QSL for our QSO I will be more than happy to send it to you preferably via bureau. If you prefer direct QSL you can find my address on QRZ.com
