As you know, directing the show of your choice for an approving audience provides unparalleled creative satisfaction.  When you pursue this avocation within the context of a solvent community theatre with a supportive Board of Directors, a substantial subscriber base, a highly regarded talent pool and a great stage facility, the whole experience becomes a joy. 

The Hawthorne Players offer you the optimum opportunity to pursue this creative outlet as we seek directors for 2010, our 64th season of producing quality community theatre.  The prospect of seeing your show mounted in the recently renovated Florissant Civic Center Theatre should sweeten your consideration.  This beautiful facility has become even more design and performance friendly with its complete fly system, enlarged backstage and new shop area.  It is truly a dream space.

Hawthorne produces a summer musical and two straight plays, one in April and one in November, plus a production that supports our Duckie DeMere Scholarships for area high school students.  While we need to consider the expectations of our somewhat conservative subscriber base and the Florissant Civic Center guidelines, the Hawthorne Board is also committed to reaching North County’s more diverse demographics.  Recent shows that have done well in this facility include: Over the Tavern, Annie Get Your Gun, Spoon River Anthology, On Golden Pond, Kiss Me Kate, Proof, Stepping Out, Oklahoma, and Man of La Mancha
