What is Hawaii MusicWorks? MusicWorks is an innovative program that goes beyond normal music lessons. MusicWorks combines improvisation and composition, with basic instrument skills theory so that students not only learn how to play music, but also how to create it! Research & experience has shown us that beginning and intermediate level students learning in groups develop a better sense of musicality and rhythmic skills, something that is sometimes missing with private lessons. All classes are formed according to age and ability level. After successfully completing Level Two of group instruction, students are eligible to audition for: RockSchool a program that allows young amateur musicians to experience the level of musicianship, commitment and dedication it takes to succeed in today’s music world. Students will “max” their musical potential by building solid instrument skills, applying music theory to compose and improvise, gain experience in live performance, digital recording & music video production. Advanced Ensemble Performance, Duet or Private Study held weekly, these specialized sessions give upper level students a chance to pursue specific areas of study and enjoy the benefits of a curriculum that emphasizes their musical taste.
