Common Questions
Where will you stay?
We’re on a mission to find the best experience for homeschoolers in each destination. Our accomodations include roughing it in a one room KOA cabin at the base of Mt. Rushmore, staying a night at the Great Wolf Lodge-Poconos, a first class family destination resort, immersing ourselves in colonial history by staying in one of Colonial Williamsburg’s Hotels and indulging in four star luxury in some of our urban destinations.
What about Matt and Drew?
Drew enjoys Waluga Junior High and Matt is saving his vacation days for an all family adventure. Drew says, “Dad and I will get to watch lots of college football and eat tons of pizza.” That doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend 6 weeks either.

About Us
We are a family who loves discovering things and learning together, so when we plan our vacations, we like places that are new to all of us. When Matt’s job took us to the Caribbean for a year, we had the opportunity to travel to many islands. It was there that we learned that while lazing on the beach certainly has its place, the most memorable moments were the cultural experiences we shared.
Last summer we spent a week at the Lamanai Outpost Lodge in the rain forest of Belize. Learning about the Mayans, climbing the temples, tracking the Howler monkeys, and hiking through the rain forest were thrilling for all of us.
You don’t need a passport to have a unique family travel experience. Our country is so vast, so diverse and so rich in its own history and culture that opportunities for adventures are everywhere!
The Ultimate Mother/Daughter Adventure
A six week cross country car trip may seem more like a nightmare than a dream for many mother daughter pairs, and Amy knows the opportunity has a limited window of appeal.”I am not sure Caroline would be too keen on the idea in five years, when she is fourteen. And in ten years, it may not be feasible.”
So the time is ripe for the two to discover America together. ”I am hoping that we will look back on it with the same feeling we have had with the whole homeschool experience; as a really magical time together.”
