In a world of increasing contact among cultures, there is the need for a central location from which to learn the basic similarities and differences between cultures (and even within cultures)

We can regale and take comfort in the recognition of the similarities between our culture and other cultures

We can also be astounded by and learn to appreciate the differences between our cultures and learn How, Why, Where, When, Who and What about another culture may be valuable in our own lives

Ultimately, the goal is peace and love through understanding the richness and diversity of the cultures of the world, while learning acceptance through exposure to cultures ‘outside’ our own group

To clearly see the world from outside the lens of our ‘home’ culture is to recognize that there are few ‘rights’ or ‘wrongs’ –– there just – ‘is’

This gives us then, within our own culture, a New Freedom to search out ways that are most effective in solving our day-to-day challenges and to recognize that the solutions are many and that we need only reach out for them in a spirit of trust and a willingness to be ‘teachable’
