The aim of this project is to make use of mobile devices and help children in their learning process at the “Ann Arbor- Hands on Museum”


The challenge is to develop intuitive interfaces so that the children can access, capture information easily and take the experience home.


Our objective is to enhance children learning along with fun.

 


The client of this project is Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, which is aiming to inspire people to discover the wonder of science, math and technology.



Some basic facts about the museum:


  1. Over 2.5 million people have visited the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum since 1982.

  2. The Museum has become a regional destination drawing over 60 percent of its visitors from outside the Ann Arbor area.

We average 200,000 visitors annually.

36,000 students visit annually with school and community groups.

Over 10,000 students annually enjoy our ScienceWorks labs as part of their school visits.

We serve over 26,000 students and teachers off-site every year through Outreach education programs and Summer Science Camp.

3,500 members keep the Museum strong and growing.

Over 5,000 people annually visit the Museum with our birthday party program.

More than 1,500 campers sleep at the Museum during organized camp-ins each year.

Every year over 1,500 people visit during the After Hours Rentals.

The Museum occupies over 40,000 square feet in downtown Ann Arbor.

The Detroit Free Press named us the Best Museum in 2003.

The Museum has received national recognition by the National Science Foundation, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Association of Science and Technology Centers.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is consistently rated the Best Kids’ Activity in the annual “Best of Ann Arbor” list.
