H.W. Smith Elementary School is the home to almost 750 children in kindergarten through 6th grade who come to us from around the city and around the world. We currently teach over 250 international children from over 30 different countries. We want all our children to feel pride in their home lands and pride in America. We work to ensure that all our children have success academically, socially and emotionally during their years here and in the future. We believe children learn in a variety of ways and through a variety of activities. Our school’s goal is for all our children to reach their potential. We actively recruit community support, from tangible resources to volunteers, to create a school community that will prepare our children to become caring, thoughtful and insightful leaders of our city and our world in the 21st century.
