What you should know
lets have some fun:
I love what I do. For it is very rewarding being a part of companies succeeding with my creative efforts. This is what I do for my living, so as much fun as it is, this is a serious business. The following will help guide you - if you are not a seasoned Art Director.
price:
I can give an accurate quote, only if I know the whole scope of the project.
First, e-mail me with a brief description, number of illustrations and how you are marketing your project. I will then contact you with questions or have a phone meeting to discuss details.
A 50% deposit starts the job. Balance is due upon approval of the low resolution final art. Finally a high resolution - finished product is sent.
timing:
Luckily I am busy all the time. I do not do speck work (free mock-ups). I can meet any deadline as long as we agree on the date first.
style:
I have my own style of drawing. I can market and adjust to all age levels, but what you see is what you get. If you want Jack Davis hire Jack.
the process:
After the deposit I will e-mail you rough pencil sketches. At this point, make any changes and suggestions to the sketches. I will then revise and add color suggestions. (This typically takes a total of week back and fourth.) Once approved, I do a high resolution finish in Photoshop. Changes after the final sketch approval are charged accordingly. Minor color changes are not charged.
Copyrights and usage:
For anything other than logo work I sell my work as “one time usage.” In other words, if you buy one of my giclee’ prints, use it in an ad you would have to have permission in writing plus additional fees paid. This way I can keep prices lower than complete buyouts.
