Loud & Queer Cabaret turns 18

Old enough to vote. Old enough to drink. And old enough to die for its country… but still young enough to shake the rafters!

Happy Birthday to us! The Loud & Queer Cabaret Comes of Age this year as it celebrates the 18th Year of showcasing the very latest in LGBTQQ art and culture. You are invited to the event of the season, Friday and Saturday, November 13 & 14, at La Cité Francophone (8627 91 Street). L&Q is produced by Guys In Disguise and Workshop West Theatre, and is presented by Exposure: Edmonton’s Queer Arts & Culture Festival.

Hosted by queer champions Darrin Hagen and Kristy Harcourt, this year’s event presents both seasoned and emerging writers, musicians, dancers, drag queens, poets, singers, mandolin players, gay rock bands, folk trios, filmmakers - and even a choir! Loud & Queer is the largest and longest-running Queer arts showcase of its kind in Western Canada.

The 18th annual showcase features the talents of Nancy Price, Laurie MacFayden, Antonio Bavaro, JK Wood, Jason Chinn, TL Cowan, T Berto, Alex Bailey, Rosemary Rowe, Philip Jagger, Kristy Harcourt, Jonathan Sienen, Nicole Moeller, Darrin McCloskey, Althea Cunningham, Nick Green, Cindy Zuby, Norm Sacuta, The Low-Flying Planes, Trevor Anderson, Danielle Peers & Melisa Brittain, Cody Ray, The Boyfriends, Christian Morneau, and Edmonton Vocal Minority.

This year’s Loud & Queer Players are Harvey Anderson, Nadien Chu, Linda Grass, and Branden Martin, and will be directed by Darrin Hagen

And because L&Q is 18 years old, we have some entertainment strictly for the grown-ups: transgender porn sensation Buck Angel will be interviewed onstage by Edmonton’s own Euro-glamourpuss Susannah Patchouli.
