Those Lyrics
I have gotten a lot of emails lately about Broken Chromosomes. The questions revolve around the last few lines of the song. I purposely didn’t put the lyrics inside the CD booklet because they were studio inspired lyrics that came to me as I was finishing up the singing in the studio. Plus, I thought it would give a few people out there something to figure out. Now a few years have passed, and I can’t believe it’s still a mystery! Even I had to think about it. Three weeks ago I spoke at a youth group in California, and was asked by three people what the lyrics were. Then last week someone pointed me to their website in London which has postings of several people who were trying to guess the lyrics. So, I have decided to have a contest. The 2 people who guess the closest to what those extra lyrics are, will win an authentic Tourniquet shirt from the album Psycho Surgery. These are from the first batch of shirts we printed. One has the album cover on front and the songs on the back. The other shirt is a Psycho Surgery Medical shirt which I wore on stage a quite a few times, and it’s in perfect condition. This medical shirt was actually the pre-production sample that we printed before we did the first run of shirts. It says “Memorial Lutheran Hospital” on the front, in small letters. The one who gets the closest, can take their pick of the shirt they want, and I will throw in some extra stuff as well...like things you can only find in my attic. The last line of lyrics that appear in the CD booklet are: “I’m free now cause I’ve, got no pain to pass on.” If you think you know the last few lines of the song, please email me. I may even post the funny ones that aren’t even close, and award a few last place prizes. (I have a very large attic). Email your guesses to me at: heyguyritter@yahoo.com. Update: I added an audio clip under the Blog Archive entries if you would like to hear that part of the song. The blog entry is called, “Broken Chromosomes - Unpublished Lyrics Contest.’
